March Red Fish Madness

by | Mar 24, 2019

March Red Fish Madness is a thing here in New Orleans. With everyone catching their share of red fish daily it couldn’t be called anything but madness. As the weather increasingly getting nicer the fishing will become a bit more predictable and action packed .

Not that it hasn’t been action packed already but as the cold fronts diminish the water will stabilize in temps and the bait will continue to move inland as the schools of fish will follow. With all these combined the waters will be taming with fish ready to bite and battle every bait presented to them.

March has been a busy month for us. We’ve been mostly fishing for red fish which is our primary target fish throughout the year. We do venture out in search of speckle trout at times but here lately the trout don’t seem to be in abundances in our area.

The red fish have been coming by way of fishing the back water marshes with soft plastics and sometimes shrimp under a popping cork. Both methods have proven to be very effective. The shrimp and popping cork method have produced a couple black drum as bonus fish when used and the soft plastics have produced a couple of speckle trout.

Whatever your skill level may be , we can have you catching your share of fish in no time. If your looking to do some fishing while in town give me a call and …….
