Fall fishing is in full swing of catching red fish and some speckle trout. The cold fronts have started to cool the temperatures of the air and water. When this happens the fish become a bit more active and cooperative.
We have been busy with non-stop fishing since my last post. So busy that I didn’t realize that I hadn’t posted on my blog in 3 months. With the occasional off day, fishing has been phenomenal with everyone catching their share of fish daily.
For the most part, we are focusing our efforts on red fish in the back waters. Our fishing method of choice has been patrolling the banks with shrimp under a popping cork with some soft plastics. The red fish have been in the 20″-27″ size range on average. This is perfect size fish to put up an action packed fight on the light tackle we use.
We are starting to see a few more speckle trout moving in and should be focusing on them more as winter moves closer. The speckle trout that I have caught in recent days have been healthy and in the 13″-16″ size range. For fishing trout, we have been using popping corks with soft plastics and fishing some with soft plastics tight line.
I would like to thank everyone for coming out and enjoying the day on the water with us catching fish and making memories. It truly has been our pleasure and we look forward to seeing everyone again.
