Today my trip started like all my New Orleans Fishing Charters start. With a beautiful sunrise, the excitement of catching fish and the hopes of catching the big one. My crew today was from New York and had never fished red fish before but were excited and ready to go . With the winds at 20+Mph I had to stay in protected waters which worked out great. It wasn’t long before we had fish on ice and the good times rolling. Mixed sunshine and clouds with the wind blowing made for a pleasurable day on the water catching red fish in the marsh of New Orleans. We only kept enough fish for my crew to take to a local restaurant downtown and have the chef put together a New Orleans red fish cuisine for dinner. September is almost gone and fall has officially started. Fishing is good and the weather is superb.

I’m Captain Jason Shilling, owner and fishing guide of New Orleans Style Fishing Charters. I fish the bayous of Lafitte, Louisiana for red fish and speckle trout. Located just 40 mins south of New Orleans, Lafitte is home to some of the finest inshore fishing the New Orleans area has to offer. I’ve been fishing these waters my whole life and know how to show y’all the true meaning of southern hospitality, good times, and lots of action.
