Today started out cold and icy. Yep!! Icy and 29 degrees, but both crews were prepared to battle the cold and catch some red fish. Capt Roy and I were able to get on some fish by early morning and before we knew it, it wasn’t that cold anymore . We had all warmed up from catching 2 boats worth of limits of red fish and then a few we caught and released. Even though we had a chilly start the day turned out to be an excellent day of catching here on the Bayou.

I’m Captain Jason Shilling, owner and fishing guide of New Orleans Style Fishing Charters. I fish the bayous of Lafitte, Louisiana for red fish and speckle trout. Located just 40 mins south of New Orleans, Lafitte is home to some of the finest inshore fishing the New Orleans area has to offer.
