Catching Red Fish Daily

by | Jul 10, 2017

I can’t believe this year is flying by so fast . June is gone and we are already in the second week of July.  Time sure does fly by when you’re catching red fish daily. That’s just what we’ve been doing here on the bayou .

For the past few months I’ve been fishing in the back waters and marshes . A few weeks ago the water temps reached the upper 80’s in the back water and the fish locked up, so I had to start fishing a little  deeper water to find the temps that the fish were hungry in.  Fishing in just a foot deeper of water, the temps are 5-10 degrees cooler and that makes all the difference in the world at this time of year.

Here in the last week or so I’ve started fishing with spoons , soft plastics and spinner baits. Trolling the banks and covering lots of ground . Fishing like this we’ve started to catch some nicer red  fish in the 20″-27″ range . I’m still fishing with shrimp under a cork at times and its still proving to be effective .

I want to Thank everyone for coming out and fishing a Nawlins Good time with me and I look forward to seeing everyone again some day.

I’m booking trips daily so feel free to give me a call with any questions or to schedule your charter today.
