The first month of 2018 is in the books. I have to say it was a crazy month of weather here in New Orleans. The fish didn’t seem to mind and customers who chose to bare the weather with me were well rewarded . We’ve primarily fished for red fish so far this year. That was true for the last week of January as well.
With another cold front pushing trough in the beginning of the week , we ran to our go to spots for these conditions. As we had hoped for they paid off with boxes filled with fish . With most of the red fish being caught on market shrimp under a popping cork in these conditions . I did throw some soft plastics a couple days ,when I found clean water. We were able to catch quite a few swimming the Black and chartreuse baby bull minnow.
I want to thank everyone for fishing with New Orleans Style Fishing Charters this past week . Its been a fun week of catching fish and making memories for all. Despite the weather conditions not being ideal , we made the best of it and caught our share of fish. If your in town for Mardi Gras and would like to get out of the city for a fun and action packed day on the water …..
