September and October Fishing in New Orleans

by | Oct 26, 2017

September and October fishing in New Orleans has been amazing. Its been a busy couple months, so much so that I haven’t posted a report here in some time. I’ll keep this short and to the point. We’re still catching the reds in the back waters mostly on market shrimp under a cork working the islands and banks. Some of the reds have been caught on artificial as well.

The speckle trout are showing up in numbers . They have been mixed in size but lots of action to be had fishing for them. Here are some pics of memories that have been made in the last month or so….

I’m Captain Jason Shilling, owner and fishing guide of New Orleans Style Fishing Charters. I fish the bayous of Lafitte, Louisiana for red fish and speckle trout. Located just 40 mins south of New Orleans, Lafitte is home to some of the finest inshore fishing the New Orleans area has to offer. I’ve been fishing these waters my whole life and know how to show y’all the true meaning of southern hospitality, good times, and lots of action.
